Bing Desktop Is Awesome – Must Try For Bing Wallpaper Lovers
If you’re great fan of Bing.com images, here’s a simple way to set them as your desktop wallpaper automatically. Bing.com homepage may not be known as the leading search engine but it’s definitely home to some of coolest images on the planet. I visit bing just to get a glimpse of those images. And I believe many of you are also fans of those mesmerizing sights the search engine hosts. There is now official software utility called “Bing Desktop” from Microsoft by which you can automatically set those images as your desktop wallpaper.
Bing Desktop was released pretty quietly by Microsoft some time back. There are certain utilities available which give the functionality Bing Desktop provides but it’s better to use apps from Microsoft than unknown resources. Bing Desktop is very lightweight piece of software. It’s only 1.4MB in size. It installs pretty quickly without any quirks and gets to work easily.

There are two functionality provided by Bing Desktop. Setting Bing images as your desktop wallpaper and small bing search bar. Bing search bar is non intrusive and can be closed if you’re not using Bing as your default search provider. You can’t move the search bar with your mouse pointer. You can either place it in center or top of the screen. I think this is not a good move on Microsoft part because those are premium real estates on anybody’s desktop. So mostly people will tend to close the Bing search bar.
To close the search bar there is small “Gear” icon at the right most side of the bar. It will give option to exit the search bar, to place the bar on top and some other options. Bing Desktop is compatible with Windows 7 and Windows Vista. If you’re using it on older versions of Windows then please share in comments so others can get a clue. Also hotkey “Window Key + H” is assigned to the search bar. Pressing “Window Key+H” will pop-up the Bing search bar. You can enter your query in the bar. It also uses auto complete as well as search suggestion feature. Enter query and hit “Enter”. This will open the Bing search results in your default browser. It’s surprising that Microsoft not chaining you into Internet Explorer.
Wallpapers will be changed automatically to the current Bing image. And you’ll definitely going to love those beautiful pictures on your desktop.
So go ahead and install Bing Desktop on your PC to turn your desktop into eye candy.
