World’s fastest growing micro-blogging site ‘Twitter’, has really come a long way now. Besides gaining popularity among masses, many celebrities round the world have joined Twitter to communicate with their fans directly. Twitter not only helps celebrities to interact with their fans, but it also helps them to gain popularity and keep their media presence alive.

So in this article I have done a bit of research and found out 10 Most Followed Indian Celebrities on Twitter. Interestingly, eight out of ten celebrities are Film Stars, one is the Sports Person and remaining one is the Politician. Here goes the list :-

1. Amitabh Bachhan: (Twitter Id- @SrBachchan, 2103978 Followers)
   
   At the age of 69, he just seems even more stronger and ready to take it on, hats off to him. Just like Bollywood, he has conquered Twitter too.
2. Priyanka Chopra: (Twitter Id- @priyankachopra, 2024158 Followers) 
   
   Only second to man of the millennium, this beautiful actress and model, has shown her mettle, and has now earned love from over 20 million people following her on Twitter!!
3. Sachin Tendulkar: (Twitter Id- @sachin_rt,  1962196 Followers)
   
   Well what can I say for The God of Cricket, he has joined Twitter recently and within absolutely no time, nearly 20 million people have already started following him, no more words to say!! He is the only sports man who made into this list.
4. Shahrukh Khan: (Twitter Id- @iamsrk, 1825368 Followers)

   
   The King Khan, well as the name suggests, he is truly a king when it comes to having huge followers on Twitter.

5. Salman Khan: (Twitter Id- @BeingSalmanKhan, 1691631 Followers) 

   
   The ‘Dabbang’ man has also made it big on Twitter, with nearly 17 million followers, he is no less than King Khan!!

6. Aamir Khan: (Twitter Id- @aamir_khan, 1684467 Followers)

   
   Mr Perfectionist has also joined Twitter, but it seems that he hardly tweets, the last tweet (at the time of writing this article) was on16 Aug 2010, but in spite of that he has huge following.

7. Deepika Padukone: (Twitter Id- @deepikapadukone, 1596656 Followers) 

    
   This dusky damsel has not only made it big in Bollywood, but has also gained popularity on Twitter. Not to mention she is youngest on the list.

8. Hrithik Roshan: (Twitter Id- @iHrithik, 1403350 Followers)

   
   A great dancer and dedicated actor has blossomed on Twitter too !!

9. Preity Zinta: (Twitter Id- @realpreityzinta, 1272334 Followers) 

   
   Shocked? Bit unexpected but Preity has made into the list. Well, it is actually an achievement for Preity Zinta for not being active in Bollywood but still having huge following on Twitter. In fact, there are atleast 13 million people who do remember her

10. Shashi Tharoor: (Twitter Id- @ShashiTharoor, 1256464 Followers)

    
    Well, if Preity Zinta was the one you can forget then Mr. Cattle Class errr Mr. Shashi Tharoor is the one you would never forget But I just wonder why so many people are following him, whether its his Controversies or his Intelligence or his Diplomacy. Anyway I leave it upto you to decide on this!! Don’t forget that he is the only politician who made into this list.
