Little Celebrations – 10K+ Visitors For The Month Of July
When I wanted to write about this little achievement of our blog, I scripted lots of content in my head. But when I’m really writing about that and the words just vanished. Anyway there are thousands of blogs, let alone in India writing in technology niche ( I would like to ridicule most of them saying they are just copy cats of one successful blog ). Achieving 10K+ visitors and 15K+ pageviews is not a big deal but to keep spirits high one needs such little celebrations here and there. And we are just doing that.
Blogging Journey Till Date
We started this blog a year ago out of curiosity. At that time we didn’t knew a thing about blogging. Blogger was the first choice to start blogging and that blogger blog still redirects you on this blog. Later I realised that there was not much control and possibilities of customisation on blogger platform. So moved to this self hosted wordpress blog. Starting from how to write posts in default tinyMCE editor to widgets and using plugins, we learnt a lot about blogging. And learning is still a continuing process.
I’ve seen traffic as low as 10 hits per day when started this blog. Changing through themes and plugins, look and feel, widget placing etc was a total fun. Blogging also taught me a lot about user behavior, design processes, analysing traffic and many other aspects of online businesses. Jealousy of successful bloggers, pitying own numbers, trying hard to get traffic and failing is fun. It also teaches me that passion and patience are the two things which keeps you going in rough patches.
Some Number Crunching
This achievements of 15,000 pageviews is largely a success of the article Easiest way to download youtube video revealed in the month of July because of some forum posting and marketing efforts. But month-on-month below articles drew major traffic to this blog.

Above articles draws traffic mostly from search engines ( organic way ). Recently we got two more articles drawing regular organic traffic,
Let’s have a look at our stats. Check below monthly bar chart of visitors and pageviews from Statcounter. We started using Statcounter from last week of April 2010 after we read some negative reviews about Sitemeter - our earlier analytics provider. Though we use Google Analytics as our primary analytics software as it provides more insights in to the traffic. In month of July 2010, we got 15760 pageviews, 10670 visitors and 650 returning visitors in total.
Though this traffic may fluctuate a bit but eventually the way to go is up from here. The main focus now is content and we’ll focus sharply in improving quality of content. Let us know any suggestions to improve our offering. And if you really like us then Join Us! Ciao.
