10 Irresistible Gmail Features You Should Know

Now a days Gmail isn’t limited to just sending and receiving mail. Google has introduced number of features with course of time to make Gmail more intelligent and versatile. Here, I am going to brief about few outstanding features like undo sent mail, mail translation, remote sign out, forgotten attachment reminder, decorated text in chat, Google docs access to Gmail, Gmail for business are few of them.

1. Forgetting an Attachment, Just Forget it
People intend to attach a document, also mention attachment in an email and ultimately send it without an attachment. Think what about your impression if recipient is your boss or applying for job without an attached CV. Of course attachments do matters in such situations. So, quickly enable ‘Forgotten Attachment Detector’ feature in Gmail Settings >> Labs.

2. Undo Sent Mail
The moment you hit ‘Send’, mail gets sent to the recipients. Even immediately you realize your mistake but you are just helpless. Mistake might be forgetting manager in CC field in client communication, forwarding mail without necessary editing etc. Again an awkward situation. To avoid such mistakes Gmail has introduced this feature. Wherein you will be able to undo send within the 5 seconds of hitting ‘Send’. Go and enable ‘Undo Send’ feature in Gmail Settings >> Labs!

3. Remote Sign Out Facility
Person might forget to sign out at some public computer and some catastrophic event may occur. Enable ‘Message Translation’ feature in Gmail Settings >> Labs and Gmail will enable you to translate email into as much as 41 languages. Go for hassle free communication with your overseas European client or relatives staying in India or friends or whoever with whom you face language barrier.

7. Magnify Meaning by Using Decorated Text in Gmail Chat
You can use bold, italic and strike through fonts in Gmail chat. Such usage at right time and right place makes impact. Trick is like *afdfds* will result in afdfds (bold), _abc_ will result in abc (italic) and -abc- will be abc(strike through).

8. Gmail and Google Apps for Business
Use Gmail from your own domain or else you can choose Google Apps for your business. Google claims a huge cost benefits of using Gmail instead of Microsoft Outlook or IBM Lotus notes although I haven’t verified it. Know more.

9. Start Receiving Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL Mails on Gmail
