Now if you don’t want to spend big bucks after paid softwares, take a look at this list of free applications for your Windows PC. This list includes applications for security, internet, communication, multimedia, downloader, videos, photos and finally office suite. I’ve chosen this set very carefully so that it includes all applications that you need on your day to day functioning. Enjoy!
1. AVG Anti-virus Free

3. Adobe Reader

4. OpenOffice.org
Don’t want to pay for Microsoft Office? OpenOffice is the best alternative open source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. 5. VLC Media Player

6. Gimp
The one software I’ll suggest to anybody who owns a PC. Do you like to play with photos and images? You keep editing self protraits to make them better and better and finally you don’t want to pay for Adobe Photoshop. Download Gimp.
7. 7-zip
It’s the best and free alternative to WinZip. 7-zip is open source Windows utility for manipulating archives. Supported formats are 7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR. Other formats can also be unpacked. Download 7-zip here.
8. Free Download Manager
I use this software to download all the stuff from internet. FDM supports resumable downloads and multiple simultaneous downloads. It is a powerful, easy-to-use and absolutely free download accelerator and manager. Download FDM here.
9. Picasa
Excellent image viewer and organizer. Moreover you can edit and share photos too. Picasa is a free software from Google (And that says it all, isn’t it?!!). Personally I use it’s collage making feature which I feel is great. Give Picasa a try.
