My personal opinion – that screen shot is a good reflection of life. Americans are a lot of those things and more. We seem to be obsessed with 3 things – making money, and how much we can buy with our money. The days of values, morals, honor, charity and caring for one another are gone.

Well there are 1.1 Billion people in India. And most Indians are no Atheletes.
So where do all these people start earning with?
Well the answer is simple Brains
Except a few classes of Indians like Punjabis, Kashmiris and Gorkhas, who I should say are mostly born fit, dosent do very well (naturally) in sports.
Even though these classes may constitue a lof of people, in India its just a small amount.
So the rat race to earn money, more importantly survival, depends on how much you know and how much you can take in.
Plus our socity puts many in shame, including the parents, if someone is weak in studies, then all hell breaks loose. Plus India is a place where Parents still rule supreme on the child. So the pressure created by parents also transform children into Geeks or Nerds. Alternative carrier and lifestyle is still a big taboo in India.
So these things in a way act for the better for many, then again downfall of some. All in on people in India concentrate on studies and learning, plus there are so many of us
so it results to a smart bunch standing out.

You need to consider the economic situaiton for many peopl in modern India. Upon Independence, India was left in a terrible state thanks to the economic policies of the British Raj. For those who are unaware, the entire indigenous economy was systematically dismanted in favour of the British economy, in this way, many people subsequently endured much hardship that resulted in millions of deaths due to british Induced famines. When India became Independent, the first agenda for any middle class Indian was to secure their financial future and that was through education and obtaining qualifications where there was a national demand during Nehru’s socialist era.
Money is still a problem and there is a lack of investment in various sports bar cricket so people dont see a need to invest their lives into professions where there is no gaurantee of stable financial future. Fortunately in the US, such opportunities are there to pursue whatever you want. Do people actually think that Indians are only good at computers, maths and medicine. Give me a break, we have people who are so talented in Music and various performing arts. Our ancestors were some of the toughest warriors in the world, believe me the talent is there in India, we need to invest in this and when the time is right, Indians will emerge dominant in other fields apart from just the stereotypical ones, and unlike communist china, the growth will be organic and sustained

Hi, I would like to tell few words on this topic. Almost all the Indians seems to be and are brainy because the modern education system seems to silly for most of the Indians as they are all culitivated with Vedic Science from thousands of years where in to understand the Vedic Chants/ Shlokas, our ancients have dedicated their lives for spirutiality.
The modern syllabus of education system seems to be very easy in front of Vedic studies because the books (Vedas, Vedangas, Puranas, Itihaasa{Mahabharata and Ramayana}) can be interpreted in 100′s of meanings and these were the syllabus for a kid studying in class1 to the top most education level under Gurukula Education System. Hence the text/ syllabus needs to be strong enough to serve a person through his entire student life, having infinite puzzles, meanings, etymological interpretations, numerology, psychology, ayurveda, astrology and astrnomy e.t.c in the same syllabus.
As Indians are used to these type of studies {Remind : Sanskrit is not having literature, hence currently using 4 different LIPI’S (literature) in India called Deva-Nagari, Nanda-Nagari, Prakrit and Grantha-Akshara. Our ancients used to remember these Vedas and to pass it on to next generation called Shruti and Smriti} with all their intelligence spent to understand all the sciences that has been told in Vedas, they find modern education system comparitively easier and surely leading almost all of them due to new education system’s compartmentalisation.

India is really a smart country? I don’t think so. If a country is smart then it should be in the top positions not on 132nd. If a country is smart then it should not have 80% of its population poor and 30% of the popul below poverty line. We just have 2 or 3 billionier and millionier but still we fell proud, when every year more than 10,000 farmers commit suicide.
Many great inovations has taken place in this land (ex :- wireless tech to discov plant has life) but still we don’t fail to say India to be a country of Religion rather than Science.

if we are still so poor that doesn’t mean we are not smart….we are poor becos each indian is working n slogging for his own benefit and not for the country’s benefit.They don’t think about others but utilize all their brains for only their progress.Indian brains work at both vertical and horizontal levels.If they stop being selfish they can surely progress

That’s the problem these days. People have developed a stereotype that religion and science are two completely opposite, different things and incompatible with each other. Science is considered something of the modern age while religion is thought of as backward, irrational and outdated. But in ancient India, this was not the case.
Both of these were not differentiated and studied together (ancient Indian philosophy contained the elements of both religion and science). Religion was part of their lives unlike today where it is “supposed” to be practiced only by the “traditional and pious” people.
Also, let me tell you that India has the largest collection of literature on atheism than any other culture. In fact two of the six schools of thought in India, the Samkhya and mimamsa, did not believe in God.
Thus I would like to say that instead of calling India as religious it would be apt to say that India and its people have always been philosophical in its outlook of which the modern scientific approach is also an integral part.(Though gradually it is also beginning to fall victim to westernization).

i would like to ask you one question.
if u say that americans are stupid..then it is definitely wrong..
i consider them as smarter than indians.
see them, they are filtering the worlds best people and offering them to work for their country and which is making them to be top.
if u think that indians are smart i wont agree
we have fought for around 150 years for independance.. not only this many cases ..
please stop saying that india is a gr8 country n have master brains..
please work for india ..!! then only we will be good

no ..it is generated bcz of computer algorithm as number of searchs are more.
if u say that 10 % intel and nasa are indians then why dont they entirely depend on india . it means that all countries are smarter and equal.
in india most of the people work for their beneficiary but not for country progress. thats why we are lagging behind others..

all indians assume they are intelligent . but they are not . history says . c what they have searched and replying in which kind of issue . fker indians suffers from lot of poverty and illiterate and in this present generation also . people starve to death ; cant even have a meals once in a day . i must and indians are bloody fukers ,greedy , and kill each other in the name of religion and class . so , noob indians first of all help the people of country who are below poverty ..by indian .

Invented, achieved, discovered, educated and of course $$$$ are ‘measuring scales’ of today.
India is a sum of many parts. The subsystems made of geographic parts are visible in the form of culture, race, rituals, language, diet, physical characteristics etc. Some of these subsystems are “smarter” than the others. But this does not make Indians “smarter” especially when you use ‘measuring scales’ of today.
Wisdom (not intelligence or smartness), contentment and a youthful mind are the true measuring scales of a “smart” human.
A geographic subsystem which is costal & temperate in climate provides the kind of nourishment that is conducive for development of a “smart” mind. This would make humans living is such subsystems “smarter”. India happens to have a few of them.
